In the 10+ years, I've been using TurboTax I've NEVER HAD TO PAY THIS MUCH FOR MY TAXES BEFORE. I was forced to buy to the Delux package because of my student loan reporting which I'd never had to do before (and at $60 rather than the $50 because I filed the first week of April), AND state filing went up from $40 to $45... IN ADDITION TO THIS I was forced to buy the Premium Service Bundle in order to pay my tax fees with my refund... an additional HIDDEN FEE that really isn't an option to not buy when your fees to file the taxes in the first place had spiked so much higher than you are used to paying (an additional $45). Despite being upset, I(my husband) accepted these charges knowingly.
This week we finally got our Federal return only find out that not only did this tax group NOT DIRECT DEPOSIT OUR FUND LIKE WE REQUESTED (getting a paper check that will take another day or so to clear in our bank), THEY CHARGED US AN ADDITIONAL AND UNAPPROVED AMOUNT OF TWENTY DOLLARS!! Seeing as we had to file taxes for two states this year, this puts our total tax fees over $200 to file.... for that much money I could have paid the H&R Block office across the street from me to do it in person and ask all the questions I wanted to.
I'm already SUPER annoyed that my husband agreed to the original charges in the first place, and the additional unapproved $20 is just insult to injury at this point. This is one long term customer that TurboTax has officially lost.

If SBTPG is issuing you a check, that means the direct deposit from SBTPG to your card or bank account must have failed for some reason. If it did, they charge an additional fee of $20.00. (Most banks charge at least $25-30 dollars for a returned deposit).
You could have avoided dealing with SBTPG altogether by paying your TT efes upfront with a credit or debit card.
