windows 10 vs windows 11

own older HP with windows 10 and used desktop turbotax for years, last 2024,  purchased new HP all in one computer, trying to do 2025 turbotax  with windows 11 ON LINE.   Removed all previous tax files 2016-2024 onto seagate drive unit & transfered to new HP unit with on line turbotax, tried to open 2025 turbo tax and transfer as they directed and program cannot transfer files says error code 102346, followed instructions and goes in circles!    Tried to continue with manual download and ran into problem with financial institution information not transferring!   Need the transfer in order for the turbo tax program to work, never had a padlock/security code to stop flow of information ever!   Somewhere which I cannot locate on TT it mentioned that a new LAW in 2025 instuteded a change to keep hackers from stealing information??   Do not know to go forward to do my taxes.   Very sad situation.

can you clarify since you are mentioning Win 10 and Win 11, are you using "Desktop" (menu across the top) or "Online" (in your browser, menu down the left)?  If you upgraded to Win 11 why not stick with desktop version?

for the import issues a lot of people have been having problems with browser permissions this year, see this thread and others

not sure about your transfer issue.  folks have issue with transfer on desktop when starting a new return have solved it by doing File / Open Tax Return then opening the .tax2024 file and TT 2025 will detect prior year and transfer it into a new return.

Doug 34 reply did the trick, was able to import/transfer data and do my TurboTax.   Very useful and thanks to all for the data.
