@bra4129

If one of you was 65 or older during 2024, then the 1040SR will be used.

BUT...the 1040SR is line-for-line exactly the same as a standard 1040...just bigger type over 3 pages instead of 2pages.

____________

I use Desktop software that allows me to check a box and force the 1040 instead of the 1040SR.....I'm not visually-impared....yet.

If you or your spouse are 65 or older, the return will print out on a Form 1040SR.  The 1040SR is identical to the Form 1040 except that 1040SR has bigger print.     Both forms have identical lines and all of the calculations are done exactly the same way.

When you print it will print on the 1040SR even if you see only the 1040 on the screen.  You automatically get the 1040SR if you or your spouse is 65 or older.  In the Desktop program you can tell it which one to print.
