Will not let me choose standard deduction

In the deductions area it says that it will not let me choose standard deductions because my spouse is filing itemized. We are filing separately and I have his tax return through turbotax open as well to minimize confusion and it clearly shows that he has picked standard deductions. Why will it not let me choose standard as well?

Try going back to the Personal Info or My Info section of your return and edit your spouse's name.  Within that section there is also a question about itemized or standard deductions.  Make sure that it also says standard deduction instead of itemized.
