Why was my file rejected

The reject message and code should tell you that - what did it say?

Why was my file rejected

REJ001 means your state return was rejected because your federal return has not been accepted yet or your federal return was rejected.

To resolve this issue you will need to make sure that your Federal return is accepted. You will need to e-file your Federal and state returns together, or you can e-file the Federal return and then e-file the state return after the Federal has been accepted.

That usually indicates that a state return was rejected because the Federal return was not already accepted.

Why was my file rejected

my federal e file was rejected because my SS number was not correct how do I fix it

Why was my file rejected

My social security number was not correct

Why was my file rejected

Go to the personal information section and edit the SSN to make it correct.

If it is correct there and the IRS rejects it then contact the Social Security administration and see if their database is wrong.  In the mean time you will probably have to print and paper file.
