Why was me 2021 taxes denied. And why am I only finding out now ?

If you used TurboTax to e-file the 2021 tax return you would have received two emails from TurboTax.  The first email indicating the tax return was e-filed.  The second email when the IRS either Accepted or Rejected your tax return.

If you did not e-file the tax return then you should have printed and mailed the 2021 tax return to the IRS.
