Why so little back?

Over $3,000 in taxes were taken out, yet I am receiving less than $700 back in taxes. Does this seem normal? I was even unemployed for 3 months, so I made much less than normal.

We cannot see your tax return.  We do not know any of your information like your filing status, whether you have any dependent children, how much income you had, whether it was on a W-2 or something else--like a combination of self-employment income and W-2 income, etc. etc. etc.  We do not know what credits---if any---you are eligible for.   You say you were unemployed----did you receive unemployment compensation?   Did you have tax withheld from it?

Telling us how much you had withheld does not give us much to go on.   Without any personal information, if you want to provide some pertinent details, we may be able to help you understand your refund.

Why so little back?

As xmasbaby0 said above, we can not see your return. There are so many variables from year to year, it's hard to pin point the changes without comparing your return from last year to this year.

For more information, please review, "Why did my refund go down compared to last year's?"
