Why my refund is still pending?

How long does it typically take for the IRS to receive my filing and notify me of its acceptance? Mine has been showing as pending for the past 24 hours. Thank you!

It is not unusal for it to take up to 48 hours for a return to be accepted by the IRS (though most returns don't take this long, a variety of factors can influence the timing.)  

A delay in acceptance does not indicate that anything is wrong with your return, as it is dependent on the processing "side" of the electronic filing system.
