Like everyone else I have received a letter for a random pic or red flag I went to an appointment at the office the guy assured me that I will receive my taxes within 6-9 weeks so me being hopeful due to what the agent told me in looking for a refund around a month in half in it started to get to me that I haven't received nothing so I go on my transcript and check my mail it says the IRS is holding my taxes for a further review Like really what more do they need has anyone had this problem with a good outcome I don't owe taxes etc. Im just praying they didn't get enough time to review it and it comes soon
The letter says not to contact them they need to go over my income etc. it's nothing I need to do it's a waiting game geesh man I need my money I got priorities..someone please ease my mind

You could also ask "Why not me?" Anyone's return can be put under review. Sometimes the IRS puts a return under review because of something on the return that triggers the need for further scrutiny. And sometimes it is just random. The IRS is becoming more vigilant in watching for tax fraud, so more returns are being looked at closely. You say you have met with the IRS, and you know that they are processing your return, and they have already advised you that you have nothing else that you need to send to them or provide to them. Now all you can do is wait for the IRS. TurboTax cannot speed them up. You can call the IRS yourself or try a Tax Advocate if you are having a hardship because of the delay.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
