Why is turbo tax so much cheaper on amazon ?

I notice you posted your question from online Deluxe Live.  The pricing is very different for the online products, especially if you choose one with one on one help from a tax expert.  What you are seeing on Amazon, etc. are the prices for the CD/download.

Retailers like amazon or costco, etc. can set their own prices.   If you find a better price from a reputable retailer, take advantage.   Stay away from deals that sound too good to be true from retailers you have never heard of.

You can also purchase the CD/download from various retailers such as Costco, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Staples, Sam’s Club, etc. etc. etc.

When you use desktop software, there is an additional fee to e-file a state return.  You can avoid that fee if you print, sign and mail the state return.  The state e-file fee is $20 and increases to $25 in March.

@danimf1123 If you use the CD/download--no matter where you purchase it--- you can transfer your 2022 tax file into 2023.  You have to do that transfer at the very beginning ----BEFORE you enter any new 2023 data.
