Why is my refund so small?

No one else can see your tax return so we do not know what you entered.   Have you entered ALL of your 2021 income?   ALL of your other information including any dependents you are claiming (if any)?   Have you visited the section for credits and deductions?   Gone through the Federal Review section?

Print out your 2020 return and lay it next to 2021 and see what is different.

Why is my refund so small?

Your tax refund is the difference between your total tax payments/credits and your total tax liabilities.  Look at your Form 1040 for the taxes on your Taxable Income and the total of your payments/credits.

 

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state. 

This will take you back to the 2021 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets
