Why is my Colorado return 24,625 when I only made 25k?????

How could I get more money refunded to me from the state of Colorado than they taxed me? I moved for work could that be part of the reason? This is also my first year filing without being listed as a dependant but previous years I filed in New Mexico. Any idea where I messed up or have I been graced by God?

You cannot get more on your CO return than you made.  This sounds like there is a typo.  Go back to your W2 and be sure that you did not enter your wages as the amount withheld.  This would be the most likely reason you are getting back about what you made.  Box 16 should be your state wages.  Box 17 should be your state taxes withheld.  Box 18 would be your local wages and box 19 would be your local taxes withheld.  Double check those numbers and you are likely to find the problem.
