The question area was not large enough to put down my complaints so I'll do it in the replies.
First Intuit took a federal rule that we had to pay using a credit card from a US bank, then they made they're own rule that it could only have a US billing address. I have a credit card issued by USAA but since I live oversea they will not except it.
Second I have been borrowing my mothers credit card for several years to file my taxes online through Turbotax, Now this year, arbitrarily, they make a rule that you have to have a verified US telephone number to file electronically. They have our mailing address they have our email. That has always been enough to get a hold of us! Why now!
If any Expats are reading this before you pay DO NOT continue find a better tax preparation option because they have made it clear they will take your money but not give you the service that people filing from the US get.
Thanks for that. I just ran across the same problem. I thought it would be easily resolvable, but it seems your right. I will search for another on-line service.
Same here! I used TurboTax for so many years. Had to turn to H&R for expat filing. Yet, H&R 's 1099-B filing is so lousy for expat tax documenting. What a pity that the two biggest USA Tax companies, can't do a simple thing right.
