Why does my state e=file will not transmit saying i have too many characters in a worksheet?

IF it's Iowa, certain "Payer" names cannot be too long

Go back to the Federal section, and EDIT the original "Payer" entry for every 1099-DIV you find there.

Make sure the name of the company that paid $$ to you (or to your account) has a shorter name.

Make it simple....chop some words off.....Fidelity Investments = Fidelity, or abbreviate.....Corporation = Corp, Company = Co...etc.

Might also be needed on various 1099-INT forms
