First there is no fee to efile a state return when using the ONLINE program. The state fee was for the use of the program to complete a state return... efiling is never guaranteed.
Next if you mail in the federal return you must also mail in the state. OR your state return has something on it preventing you from efiling ... if that is true the program would have told you what it was.
All that I get is that my federal has gone through and my state is ready to print and mail?? My fed return is set to come in on 2-24. Can I still mail my state return?
Yes, you should mail the state return in.
Often, the state will not allow your return to be e-filed because there is a schedule or form associated with it that the state computer program can't process electronically. They may need a person to process it manually as the computer is not programmed to do that.
I put in my bank information and credit card information for e-filing, but I got the message that although I e-filed Turbo Tax says to send in my forms by mail. Does that mean that I have to send in a check, too?
Yes you will send payment with the mailed in return ... what you entered in the program was never sent to the state since they did not accept your return. In the FILE tab of the program change to a mailed in state return and the filing instructions that prints with the return will let you know how to make the payment ... you may be able to do so online instead of mailing a check.
