Why did my refund go down

it was at 2000 then dropped what happened did I do something wrong

This can be several different things. Chances are you haven't done anything wrong.The numbers on the left are rough estimates, they tend to change at the end of each section because that's when it does most of its calculations.Either way you won't fully know what you are getting back until you get to the end. There could be any number of deductions that you haven't gone over yet.When you get to the end and are ready to file you will know then what the refund amount will be for sure. You will also get a chance to go back through all your information. There is a small chance that you chose the wrong answer to a question. But you are better off waiting until the final review to figure that out.
