Why did i get less money on my state return that what turbo tax said?

This happens when the state makes an adjustment on your return.  This can happen for reasons such as you had entered something incorrectly and it does not match what they had, they found that you are not eligible for a credit or deduction or you had back taxes, child support or other state obligations that they garnished your refund for.  You should receive a letter from the state telling you why the change happened.  If you do not, you will need to call the state to get the answer.
