Why am I paying $120 for my federal? I thought it was free?

You are able to begin your tax return using TurboTax Free Edition, but if you do not qualify for it, you will be prompted to upgrade.

As the other person said, you are able to begin your tax return using TurboTax Free Edition, but if you do not qualify for it, you will be prompted to upgrade. plus your filing is still free.
