Why am i only being offered a version i have to pay for??

I see that you are currently using TurboTax Deluxe. We offer free filing with our TurboTax Federal Free Edition and TurboTax Freedom Edition. In our upgraded versions, usually your taxes are a bit more complicated than what we offer for free, so there is an additional charge of $36.99 to prepare your state taxes. We do offer free electronic filing with our State package. TurboTax Deluxe is mainly used for maximizing tax deductions and credits. If you feel you have been mistakenly upgraded, you can use the Clear & Start Over feature.
