Why am I being charged for turbo tax free edition? I selected the free edition each time the option to upgrade came up.

As you go through the filing process it asks if you want to upgrade to max / deluxe etc. but I am still getting a federal filing charge

We can't see your tax information, so I can't tell if you qualify for the Free Edition or not.  If you think that you should qualify for the free return offer, try returning to the Free Edition and completing your return. 

Here's how to do that:

1. Sign in to your TurboTax account.
2. In the left-side menu, select  Tax Tools, then Switch to Free Edition.
3. You'll be asked if you are sure, select Switch to Free Edition, and Continue with your tax return. 
4. If at some point, you enter something that disqualifies you from the Free Edition, you will get an on-screen message explaining that.
