which tax product to use for:

1) qualified disaster area ( Lahaina fire ) to amend a 2nd time my 2023 tax to include casualty losses and net operating loss to carry forward into 2024.

2) 2nd amendment to 2023 done with free tax that didn't include NOL to carry forward... do I need to use a turbotax product for 2023 and if so do I include the entire 1040 work up along with 1040x

3) what product to use online for 2024 to include stocks and rental home sale?

Also I am blocked everywhere I turn on turbotax to talk to a live person who could possibly answer these Q's faster and easier ... how do I access these live people????

1. For the online version, both deluxe and premium will handle the casualty loss. All of the desktop versions handle the casualty.

2. If you are using the desktop version, you can enter items in forms mode. Any items that will be changed with the amendment, I would recommend entering the first amended amounts. When you do a second amended return, the amounts in the first column are the numbers from your first amended return - not your original return.

3. Premium is needed.

Sorry for your loss as well.

Thank you for the advice, I think it will be helpful. I am pretty much an idiot when it comes to taxes, that why I use the tax programs. Even with I will give it my best and so we'll cross our fingers and hope for the best!

ps I have both 2023 2024 I think premium... and will be getting transcripts from IRS to help sort everything.. I hope LOL!
