Where is the dependent exemption shown?

The dependent exemption is shown on the top of page 1 under the Dependents section of your federal income tax return.  You can also see the dollar amount of your exemptions without printing your tax return. In your program go to My Account at the top right of your screen and click Tools in the drop-down menu.  From there, select View Tax Summary and on the Review Tax Summary page, scroll down to the fifth line that reads Exemption amount.  In 2016, each exemption is for $4,050, so divide the dollar amount by $4,050 and you will get the number of dependent exemptions that are currently included on your tax return.
