Where do I see the personal exemptions for my dependents before I file the return? At the filing stage there is no mention of any other dollar amount.
I have read that for each dependent I have there is a certain dollar amount "exemption" which is added to the total return but there is no indication at any stage that this dollar amount is going to be applied and I will receive it. I want to make sure before I finalize and file my tax return that I will be receiving the proper compensation for my dependents.

Look on your Form 1040, line 42, or Form 1040A, line 26 to review your personal and dependent exemptions. See the FAQ below for more info. https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3299967.
