Where do I input my military rank to get TurboTax for free? I have gone through the W-2 multiple times and it does not allow me to. I am being charged at the end.

Yes, enlisted active duty military and reservists military service members (E-1 through E-9) with a W2 from DFAS get to use TurboTax Online products for free (Some restrictions apply; see details here TurboTax military).  TurboTax Live will not qualify.

Please follow these steps to enter your rank:

1. Select on "My Info" on the left 
2. On the "Here's an updated summary of your situation" screen click on your name to expand it
3. Click "Revisit" and continue until the "Let's check for some other situations" screen
4. Scroll down to "XXX, what was your highest military pay grade in 2024?" and select your rank.

Make sure you have your DFAS W-2 entered and checked the active-duty military box on the "Do any of these uncommon situations apply to this W-2?" screen after you entered your W-2.
