where do i get my IP PIN?

it is asking for my IP PIN. Where do i locate this

If you have a 6 digit PIN issued to you by the IRS you need to enter it in order to e-file.  Go to Federal>Other Tax Situations>Other Return Info>Identity Protection PIN and enter the six-digit PIN.

An IP PIN is a 6-digit code attributed to you by the IRS to prevent identity theft.

If you have one, you'll have to enter in your tax return.

1. In TurboTax Online, open your return
2. Click on Search (magnifying glass icon) at the top right of your screen
3. In the Search box, enter IP PIN and click Enter
4. In the search result box, click on Go to IP PIN
5. TurboTax will take you directly to the section where you can start entering your IRS IP PIN.
