To enter your federal and state estimated tax payments in TurboTax Desktop:

  1. Select PERSONAL in the banner, then Deductions & Credits
  2. On the How do you want to enter your deductions and credits? screen, select I'll choose what I work on
  3. On the Your 2023 Deductions & Credits screen, scroll down and select  Start to the right of Estimates
  4. On the Estimated taxes screen, select which type of estimated tax payment you made, and select Start to the right

Continue through the ensuing pages, providing all information as appropriate.  When you're done entering federal or state estimated taxes, you can repeat the process to enter payments for the other.

You can use the entry procedure above to report:

  • Federal estimated taxes for 2023 (Form 1040-ES)
  • State estimated taxes for 2023
  • Local estimated taxes for 2023
  • 2022 state estimated taxes paid in 2023
  • 2022 local estimated taxes paid in 2023
