Where did my Economic Impact Payment (stimulus check) go? The account number listed is not mine.

When your stimulus payment is sent to an account that is not yours, the bank will decline the deposit and the IRS will issue a paper check and mail it to you at the address they have on file.

Thank you for the reply. I'll admit that I'm feeling skeptical at this point; it's been over a month and the "Get My Payment" page at IRS.gov still lists the same unfamiliar account. Has anyone who has had this happen received a paper check yet? Or had the status updated on the "Get My Payment" page?
