The Affected by the 2017 Hurricanes? screen, is in the My Info section of TurboTax. It comes up after you complete your personal information. Please see screenshot below.
If you have already gone past the Personal Information section:
1. Click on "My Info" tab (left-hand column).
2. Click on "Edit" next to your name (the taxpayer).
3. Click on "Continue" to go to the next screen.
4. Answer "Yes" if you were affected by one of the natural disasters listed.
5. You can Click on the applicable blue link to get more information about disaster relief from the IRS.
To enter/edit casualty loss (e.g. hurricane, flood, fire, etc.):
1. Open your return (or continue if open).
2. Type “casualty loss” (upper-case works too) in Search box (upper right-hand corner of the screen)
3. Click on “Jump to casualty loss” link.
4. Answer the screen prompt interview questions.
