When will the 2021 8915-f form be available on Turbo Tax to efile?

@APeters so better to Efile without 8915f and just account for the deferred distributions as another 1099r?

@APeters I have never heard of filing on the wrong form.  That doesn't sound compliant with IRS rules.  If the income has to be on 8915-F then it has to be on 8915-F.

@Anonymous  The 8915F instructions explicitly instruct to take the numbers from 8915F and add to section 4b (IRA) or 5b (pension, 401k) on the 1040. It’s almost like a worksheet, not a form. If the software doesn’t support 8915F, the only way to properly do this is to print & file the return.

It would be unfortunate if TurboTax won't e-File 8915-F.

That's unlikely since the other tax software outfits can already do that (and could for some time now) with no problem.

If you e-File a correct return, your processing will not be unnecessarily delayed.

It will also help those who are still waiting for 2020 return processing.

Hi, have there been any updates as to when TurboTax will be updated to be able file 2021 taxes? Are we supposed to use our 2020 1099? Thank you!

Form 8915-F, Qualified Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Retirements (for both taxpayer and spouse where applicable) is slated to be finalized for both e-file and print on 3/24/22. You may check the forms availability list to stay updated @dstover3358.

My favorite part of clicking on the link is where it says "we need a couple of days to make the forms available for use in TurboTax," yet the form and instructions have been finalized since 2/15 and won't be available until 3/24. Should probably update to a couple of months. 

Keep in mind:

It takes some time to incorporate IRS forms into TurboTax. While they may be available from the IRS on a given date, we need a few days to make the forms available for use in TurboTax.

Free tax usa has form, they had it back in January, I have used turbo for years but when I found out this wasn't going to be available with them till end of March I went somewhere else.

Yes I used them and not any problems already got my state and federal back weeks ago

Yes, filed on a Saturday , accepted on Monday, got  my federal back 9 days later .

@EbonyA  this is just **bleep** ridiculous. I want a **bleep** answer. WHY??????? Why the hell does it take this **bleep** long to get it ready in the program? I mean does TT have a bunch of toddlers working there? GET IT DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

• I've used TT for almost 20 years. This in inexcusable.  I filed my taxes for the first time more than a week ago with freetaxusa.com .  They had implemented 8915-F and it worked perfectly.  They even imported last year's TT so it was easy.  I honestly can't believe this massive F-up on TT.

@EbonyA  Just filed with FreeTaxUSA. It was easy to file and they had 8915 F!!!!!!!!! Turbo Tax can go F@ck Themselves. NEVER AGAIN see ya

why is it taking that long... originally turbotax said it would be available by the end of february, now its almost the end of march???
