When does the IRS start accepting returns?

The estimated DD that TurboTax gives you has noting to do with the actually date - it is just a generic average of how long the IRS usually takes to issue a refund and assumes that the IRS is open for processing and there is nothing on the tax return that would delay it such as EIC or ACTC.

Look at your return in turbo tax to make sure the socials match and Check the amount. Whole dollars only . You can also check your transcript online as well to verify everything is correct

Refunds aren’t held for CTC FYI. They are held for EITC and ACTC.
EITC is only if you make less than 39k with 1 child, under 45k with 2, and under 48k with 3 dependents . Number are a little different with joint filings .

When i check IRS website i get the path act message. So im not banking on a deposit date till mid Feb like they say. I have the eic n ctc

@mrslatricehill33 make sure ur putting in the exact amount. Not the amount after turbo tax is paid.

I had the issue where it came up on WMR then I got an error for about a week and then today when I checked WMR showed refund approved and DD date of 1/30 and yes, this year I'm receiving the EIC and Ctc. Someone else had mentioned the hold on those is only if you have 2 or more dependents. I only have one.

In TurboTax, we are currently accepting returns via e-file! Although stated above the IRS is accepting returns on January 28th 2018... some returns will be fully processed as a "test".

Official start date is Jan 28th. However , they do test batch and have started accepting some as early as yesterday. Earlier fliers can usually get in earlier as that’s my experience every year with TT. I was accepted yesterday.

Mine was accepted yesterday the 22nd .. the IRS isnt holding funds this year for the child care credit like last year right ?
