We are currently going through filing our taxes and TurboTax asks about FSA spending. We did not take out an FSA however we did have a Dependent FSA where we maxed what was allowed to be put into the account. However, upon doing this we learned from friends that with where we are in life, with our baby, the DFSA isn't really to our benefit (we have a stay at home nanny and under the guidelines of the DFSA this doesn't qualify based on their strict limitations and requirements).
In the end, while we put money into a DFSA we never used any of the money allocated to it and therefore have forfeited what we didn't use. Do I still need to claim this somewhere in my taxes?

No, you don't need to claim the unused amount on your return.
