What's needed to fix a rejection code IND-544-01? I have been declaring my son as a dependent for a couple years now with no issue.

Who got the IND-544 rejection---your return or the son's return?

An IND-544 rejection means someone has already claimed the filer as a dependent, and a dependent cannot claim a dependent.   If it's your return that rejected with IND-544, that would mean someone has claimed you as a dependent.
