IRS Form 8801 is for the Credit for Prior Year Minimum Tax— Individuals, Estates, and Trusts.

form 8801 is being revised so my return is still in pending status. Does the new form reduce or increase the credit for prior year AMT?

If you don't owe AMT for the this tax year, but you paid AMT in one or more previous years, you may be eligible to take a credit for prior year minimum tax, which is calculated on form 8801.
