"An EFIN is a number issued by the IRS to individuals or firms that have been approved as Authorized IRS e-File providers. After providers complete their e-File applications, the IRS sends an acceptance letter with the EFIN included." See this Intuit website.
Are you an Authorized IRS e-Filer? That would be unusual. It's companies like Intuit who are e-Filers.
Places like Refund Advantage (early approved tax return "pay loan") require an EFIN number to register on their platform so they have associated company's federally official EFIN to cross verify any information entered by individuals. Instead of being snarky, reply with turbo tax's EFIN! Answer the gosh dang question at least!!! The original poster surely didn't think up outta thin air a complicated tax term and ask a simple question on his own accord!!
Answer to original poster - you will find the PTIN/EFIN number entry on the very bottom of page 2 from your 1024 turbo tax download print - (forum 1024 download, Page 2, in the far left corner) sectionised by big bold "Paid Preparer
Use Only " there you trace that neat thin section to the far right corner, and there will be the space which defines the EFIN/PTIN of the turbo tax professional whom aided in filing your return for you. There will be no number, just a blank space, if you filed yourself without any help. I've found no other place on the web for an open database for those numbers broadly by company lookup. Hope that helps you out a bit!
Turbotax - take note. You guys suck at answering any questions period you're ignorant as to the actual purpose, assuming you know too much, thusly expousing pure moronic arrogance in your replies..
