What is meant by "user ID" and "password?"

When I'm asked for the user ID and password, is this referring to what I've set up with my bank, or what I've set up with this website?

You have an account and a user ID to access your TurboTax account to work on your tax return.

Or are you working inside your online return and asking about importing 1099 information from your bank?

We don't what you are doing and what the context of your question is.

So we don't know what the source of your confusion is and what prompted your question.

Create a username password with 2 to 8 characters.

Are you importing a tax form from a financial institution or are you trying to sign in to your TurboTax return?
