Preparer Tax Identification Number

 

Your tax return using TurboTax is self-prepared so there is not paid tax preparer who would have a PTIN.

A PTIN is a number that identifies a paid professional tax preparer.   Paid preparers are not allowed to use TurboTax, so there will never be a PTIN shown on a return prepared using this software.  Your return will say it is "Self-Prepared."
