It means you currently have a $0 refund or tax due. It will change while you input the information, therefore it is best to ignore it until you are finished entering everything.
The thing is I finished. I did it on the 2nd of this month. It says my refund is accepted and shows my refund amount. But on the top left hand corner shows a 0. I have a feeling it had my full amount then switched to a 0. Where my total amount of my refund under it shows a bar half way thru don't know if it means if it's not done yet.
It might be that you accidentally started an amended return then your refund indicator will get reset to $0.
You can check on your refund status by going to the IRS Where's My Refund? page.
I don't think I did, but I could have hit the wrong button or something. It shows the total amount and accepted but top left corner 0. I'm guessing no way to get it back to show the refund amount? Was afraid my refund could have gotten taken. I just did it on the 2nd, and it got accepted that day. Do you how know long it takes to deposit, after it's accepted.
Usually, you should get your refund within 21 days. I would recommend to check Where's My Refund.
If you have a computer then you can view your refund amount by downloading a copy of your return. Look at line 20 of the Form 1040:
On line 20 shows my total refund amount. Also so I shouldn't think my taxes got taken or anything. Even tho shows a 0 on left hand corner. But shows my total refund amount and accepted on the 2nd. I am pretty sure it did at first show my refund on top left corner also then went to 0 out of nowhere
