What do i put as status and occupation?

You must file a form 1040 and enter your W-2 income and your self employment income. The net employment income and expenses are entered on a Schedule C and flow to line 12 of form 1040. The net income from self employment, the W-2 income, and any other taxable income are added together on the form 1040 to arrive at Adjusted Gross Income.

You can use the Self Employed version to make all these entries.

Your occupation is whatever you want to enter on your tax return. It doesn't matter what you enter. Just enter your W-2 occupation.

Type of employment has no affect on your filing status. What is your marital status and if married, are you filing with your spouse? It doesn't matter what occupation you enter. Enter the occupation for the latter half of the year.

What do i put as status and occupation?

Marital status aside, I'm trying to figure out what I list as my occupation and which form is the correct one to file based on work history.  I have been self employed for the last 15 years.  Although the business is still an entity, I began working for another company in June of last year and received a w-2.  How do I file?
