Website and software version issue

If I log in via website, filled out all my 2021 info almost to the very end, decide to purchase the software version and finish, I am able to login with my credentials but nothing is there. All the work done is not carried over so now to start again. After calling TurboTax customer service they stated that the website and application are not compatible. What really is weird both ways take my login credentials fine. The software vendor will not return my money paid which I understand is common but TurboTax cant help either. I'll have to start from scratch...?

    You should be able to save the data you've entered online as a tax data file, which can then be uploaded into the TurboTax Desktop (CD/Download) program.  See the instructions I'm linking below to do this.

     

    How do I switch from TurboTax Online to the TurboTax CD/Download? 

     

    One thing you should know:  The online program is the only place you'd need to "login" to your TurboTax account.  Once you've installed your TurboTax software to your computer (you'll need the activation code included with your CD purchase) you'll see a TurboTax 2021 icon on your desktop.  You can click on that to open the program.

    I stand corrected!  This did seem to work. I really appreciate your help in this matter. I had called before posting the  original message and they were not able to help. I had almost given up but you came to the rescue. Hopefully support will train and update their call center better.
