It's Feb 2024 and my install of TT Deluxe has the same issue. TT phone support is worthless, only referring me to the list of "restart your router, disable firewall and VPN, yadda yadda." I had a hunch it was a DNS issue and sure enough my log file indicates trouble resolving webs-entitlement-v1.api.intuit.com. nslookup does not resolve that with my default servers, but does when I override with 8.8.8.8 or from my ISP. nslookup is resolving webs-entitlement-v1.api.intuit.com with ipconfig modified, but TT itself still gets the same error.
I'm left with trying to install on other PCs or trying to run it while using another network connection.
Don't buy the TT download from target.com if you expect a refund. They are giving me the run around claiming that they did their part, which is true, but the product is flawed and target won't stand behind it.
This issue has apparently persisted for years with no resolution. I could have done my taxes with pencil and paper several times over by now.
Did you ever get a solution for this? I am now trying to install turbo tax deluxe 2024 and get the same message. I can install and launch on my laptop win 11, and my husband can launch premier 2024 on win 10 desktop, but I can't launch deluxe on my desktop win 10. I have tried all the fixes I have read on this cite and nothing seems to work. It has win version 22H2.
I used 8888 and still get DNS request timed out. time out was 2 seconds
This is deluxe 2024, turbotax should have a fix by now.
I tried all of these for days and many more suggestions that was listed on the community. I also called TT and spent 40 minites talking to them and they finally suggested using my laptop with Win 11 on it. What finally worked for me weeks later was starting my desktop in safe mode with networking. I was able to launch my tt deluxe and activate it. I then started it in regular mode and it updated and launched flawlessly.
Good luck all
Five years with the same problem, there should be a class action lawsuit against them for selling this crap. I've always bought the CD in the past so no problem until this year when you can't. Going to buy the H&R software tomorrow, no more turbo tax for me.
Did you try launching it in safe mode with networking? This has worked for me and several other people.
Good luck.
