We've had a fund since 1989 and reinvested the dividends since then. Have a huge 64K cap gains this yr, but it doesn't seem reflected in end value this yr. how to check?

Are you asking if your reinvested dividends are included in your cost basis?  If so, ask your broker.

Look at your sch D to see the long term gain is accurately reported. Remember, this is a long term capital gain so it is not ordinary income. Depending on your tax level, there may be no tax on the gain. You can look at your 1040 line 16 to determine how the taxes are calculated.

 

To print or view  your forms:

  • In desktop, switch to Forms Mode. 
  • For online:
    1. On the left side, select  Tax Tools
    2. Select Print center
    3. Select Print, save or preview this year's return
    4. If you have not paid, select pay now.
