Ok that sounds right. Line 8 $19,750 is on your 1040 tax return. Line 7 would be on Schedule 1. You should also have a Schedule 1.
Line 9 is your total income. Looks like you filed early before the new 10,200 unemployment exclusion.
If you filed early before the exclusion, the IRS will recalculate your return for the new 10,200 unemployment exemption for you. There is no need for taxpayers to file an amended return unless the calculations make the taxpayer newly eligible for additional federal credits and deductions not already included on the original tax return.
Yes, I have been told that was the case, but I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t doing anything wrong and I was aware that the “simple” checks/deposits were sent out first and I couldn’t be more simple. Single guy, broke AF and with no kids.
I was under the impression that the refund would have been in a) late May b) late July and c) late August.
It’s now mid-September and I was just curious if I had done anything wrong.
