If my employer is sending out a W2C but said i might need to ask for an extension, and the only mistake is a letter wrong on my name after the 5 first letters, should I proceed to file my taxes before the W2c arrives?

    You do not have to wait for that.  Go ahead and prepare and file if you are ready.

    Does that mean I can send the W2 before the W2c arrives? Everything is ready and it is just one letter wrong

    Yes.  As long as the employer's identification number (EIN) in box b, your social security number in box a, and the other entries are correct (wages, federal income tax withheld, etc.), you can file your tax return.
