W-3 filing requirements when submitting an E-filed W-2 form

I used turbotax to e-file our W-2s however after submitting them the W-3 appeared in a print only version.

So do we print and mail the W-3 with a copy of the W-2's submitted?

Or

Has this been also been E-filed with the submittal of the W-2's ?

When we have used the BSO site at SSA we have to fill out and submit both electronically.

No such confirmation for W-3 appeared when submitted the W-2's

This should be cleared up in the program

The instructions for Form W-3 say:

Do not file Form W-3 for Form(s) W-2 that were submitted electronically to the SSA

Complete a Form W-3 transmittal only when filing paper Copy A of Form(s) W-2, Wage and Tax Statement. Don't file Form W-3 alone.

W-3 filing requirements when submitting an E-filed W-2 form

I saw those same instructions on the printable W-3 form that Turbo Tax generated.

However I've always had to fill out an electronic W-3 at the SSA's BSO account even when we filed W-2s there electronically for the last 5 years.

So are you saying that No W-3 filing is ever required by the IRS if we have submitted W-2's online thru TurboTax?

Can you confirm that is the case?

Yes. You do not need to file form W-3 if your forms W-2 are e-filed.
