I need to verify the date of my filing and when i check my account it says 2/9/21, but the IRS does not have that on record. Are there receipts for the filing date or how can i confirm this? Is there a direct help line i can call?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
The Internal Revenue Service announced that the nation's tax season will start on Friday, February 12, 2021, when the tax agency will begin accepting and processing 2020 tax year returns.
So even if you completed your tax return on 2/9/21 the earliest date it would be transmitted to the IRS would be on 2/12/21.

shouldn't i have received my return by now
Not necessarily. This year has brought challenges. The IRS is required to reconcile the tax returns and stimulus payments as well as working on the third stimulus payments due to the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). With the tax season and the changes taking place all at once, a delay should be expected for full payments. They want to be diligent and are required to follow any protocols they have been issued. They will make any adjustments and additional payments as they complete the process.
Give it more time to process. You can always try to obtain an IRS Transcript, periodically to confirm the return with what you filed.
