I was using the free on line version of Turbo Tax. The free version told me I needed to upgrade because of a Schedule 3 issue. I purchase the Turbo Tax deluxe on disc to accomodcate this requirement. I thought it would lead to a larger refund. The Deluxe version resulted in a lesser refund by $1,086.00. I am trying to figure out WHY the lesser amount instead of a greater amount. The FREE version has a different amount on Line 1040 4d than the Deluxe version. I have gone throught the Q and A three tim3es and do not understand why the different treatment of the ROLLOVER amount.
I am very frustrated!!! This is my 3rd attempt to get valid assistance from Intuit to solve this discrepancy!! Please respond with an insightful answer. or I may have to go to FaceBook to share my frustration and lack of "Help" from and advertised tax assistant.

You should have received a 1099-R for the rollover amount. The key question is going to be:
If you indicated that it was rolled over to a ROTH it would be taxable.
If for some reason this does not resolve the issue, delete it and post it again.
I know the difference between a Roth and a Standard IRA. This was answered correctly by me.
Lets try again.
1040 line 4B has the taxable IRA distributions. Line 4D has pension and annuities. You said line 4D. Is the problem that the IRA box is not marked? Somehow it got on the wrong line of the return. I would love to be able to see more and talk to you. Maybe the chat support would be better where you can try things with them in real time.
