I still have not received any unemployment refund for the pandemic relief. We filed our taxes before it passed and understood we did not need to do anything but that was in the spring and we have yet to receive any information. How can I check if it was processed. We also missed out on stimulus relief because of the increase in income due to the additional relief money. What can we do?

Hi!
I am sorry to hear of your delay in receiving your refund. The IRS advised that we should allow them to make corrections for the Unemployment correction. If an amended return was completed, that would account for the long wait being experienced. If not, please be patience as the IRS is delivering these checks based on the complexity of your return.
The best thing to do is be patient and send no information to the IRS that could further delay your return. What you can do though is contact the Taxpayer Advocate Service by finding your state at this web address: https://www.taxpayeradvocate.irs.gov/contact-us/#FindlocalTAS
You will reach a recording with a message to leave your information and someone will call you back.
Good Luck!
Hi @CinthiaS1
Sorry you've been waiting so long and haven't heard anything. That is definitely frustrating!
While it is possible that the IRS is still processing your adjustment for the Unemployment Compensation Exclusion, you may want to double check if you were eligible for any additional refund. The reduction in taxable income did not result in additional refund due for all taxpayers. Most commonly, the reason is that your taxable income on line 15 of your Form 1040 was already 0 before the change in law.
If you need help determining if you should be receiving extra funds, don't hesitate to reach out to our Live Help from your TurboTax home screen! One of our agents can take a look at your return and help you determine how much you should be expecting to receive.
