Where is my unemployment refund?? My return was accepted Feb 11, got my refund two months later.. got my stimulus payments(after the hiccup on your end) Ctc came with out a hitch, and now SUMMERS OVER, and i want my money! People who “didn’t know” to claim taxes on unemployment got relief by not having to pay those.. I paid mine ALL YEAR and am receiving the **bleep** END OF THE STICK FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING. I paid $120 for you to file my taxes, you accepted my payment. The glitches you have experienced conveniently in the past year, i feel, have been a TOTAL INCONVENIENCE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. I claim three dependents/ctc/eitc..I know i’m due something.. It’s 1pm here and i’ve yet to see any responses to any questions here. I’m not trying to give you a terrible review, I haven’t had ANY problems until now. I’ve spoke with your customer service, they weren’t really any help either. I just need to know when to expect my refund for unemployment, or if I should have been amended this WHOLE TIME. Thanks! And have a wonderful day! @TURBOTAX

Hello Ashly1
I know it can be frustrating waiting for the additional tax refund due to the unemployment compensation exclusion! Since you filed your tax return prior to the signing of the American Rescue Plan the IRS had not updated their forms, and are automatically adjusting those returns, which there are millions!
First, you'll want to review your return and confirm you included the unemployment compensation on your tax return. It would appear on your 2020 Schedule 1 Line 7. If it was included, and no exclusion on your 2020 Schedule 1 Line 8, then you do not need to amend, the IRS is automatically adjusting the returns.

The IRS has said that payments will continue "throughout the summer," which means that unless we hear something else, payments could continue through September 22nd.
You may request a tax transcript that would reflect if the IRS has made changes to your filed tax return. There are different types of transcripts, I recommend the Record of Account Transcript.

Here is a link to check the exclusion amount you would be eligible.

I sure hope your refund comes soon, and that you find this useful!
I’ve BEEN looking at my transcripts. Thank you for replying, didn’t help though. Have a wonderful rest of your day!
Hello,
You may want to reach out to Taxpayer Advocate Service if you don't receive your additional refund by the end of September.

Hope this is useful!
