Unemployed

I became unemployed since May (no unemployment benefits) but my husband started working this year. How does this affect my taxes?

Unemployed

If you are not collecting unemployment you would claim what you made from your employer on your W2.

If you are filing a Married filing Joint return with your husband, you would add his W2 along with yours and any other income items. Unemployment benefits are taxable.

If you do start receiving them you will receive a 1099-G that will need to be added to your income.
