Unable to import 1099-B from E*Trade. Does turbo tax have a solution?

After trying multiple times to download 1099-B from Etrade, I get an error message. Etrade customer service says it is TurboTax's software that cannot handle over 2500 transactions. Doea anybody have a solution for this problem. TurboTax is no help.

I believe that number could be closer to 2,100 transactions.

Regardless, the only solution is probably to print and mail the entire return along with a copy of your 1099-B or e-file the return and then print and mail Form 8453 and your 1099-B.

you can't import.   however, you should look at the actual 1099-B. in 2020 TurboTax offers a summary section to enter type A and/or D transactions each type as on its own line provided there are no wash sales.  any trades with wash sales would need to be manually entered as a separate transaction

if you want to mail in the 1099-B then you can enter each type as a single line item with adjustment code M 

you then mail in the 1099-B with form 8453 following the filing instructions closely. make sure the 8949 line is checked on the 8453
